Yes, It's summer here in Florida also, mighty hot and lots of humidity. I've been working every day on the Molly B and getting some things done. The engine shutdown system didn't work out because I had the wrong circuit board. I had to upgrade to the 5 circuit board in order to hook up the generator, engines, and blowers. That's four circuits and the board I had only had three circuits. As soon as it arrives, I can complete the installation of the engine shutdown system. In the mean time I've been working on some wiring for my winch for the mast boom and the mast itself. I've been pulling wires through the mast and getting my radar mount finished up. I'm making progress as usual all be it a little on the slow side. I've also been dealing with radiation treatments for my prostate cancer so that has really slowed me down as well. I just can't seem to work more than a couple of hours a day and I'm worn out. My Dr. says that will pass in a month or so. Maybe then I can get a little more done each day. I'm getting so close to the launch of this project I really need to get it finished up and in the water! I'm getting really anxious the closer I get.

The Hot Days of Summer!
Here it is, the first day of summer already. It's been in the 90's here in Florida for the past few weeks and I don't think it is going to cool off until fall. My boat building amplifies the heat by a good 15 to 20 degrees so it is really hot working in there. I'm trying to finish all the inside work because I have my AC running and that keeps me cool.
I have finished the installation of all my exhaust hoses and I'm now working on installing my fire suppression system. I have my extinguisher mounted and I'm in the process of wiring the automatic engine shut down system. I think I'm a little over my head with this one, but I hope I can figure it out eventually. I have a three circuit control box and I really need a four circuit box which they don't make so I have to try to get by with the 3 circuit box. I think I can wire a couple things onto the same solenoid so one solenoid will shut down both items regardless of what is running or not running. I'll have to test the whole system when I get it all installed to be sure but I think it should work.

Closing in on the Launch Date!
I have finally finished the Salon. There are a few new pictures posted of the finished salon area. I have the floor all done, the dinette is done, and I have my TV cabinet installed. I'm using the TV at home so I won't install that until we are ready to move the boat to the water but it's all ready to go. Now the only thing left to do is give the salon, bridge, and foreword cabin a real good cleaning. There is a lot of construction dust everywhere that needs to be cleaned up.
I have moved into the engine compartment now and I have quite a bit of work to do down there before we are ready to move the boat. My engines need a real good cleaning and some paint touched up because believe it or not, they have rusted a bit in a few places just sitting there for so long. I guess my original paint job wasn't so good for them to be rusted already. But, there aren't that many spots that need attention so that shouldn't take all that long to accomplish. There are lots of loose ends down there to clean up so I will be working there for some time yet.

More Pictures!
I've just added a couple new pictures of my cabinet work. I have finished my drawers and the top for the desk. I'm almost done with the cabinets in the salon, just a few more coats of varnish and I will be done with them. I'm working on a handrail to the bridge right now and next I"m going to build the cabinet for the TV. Then the building will be all done. I can't believe it's been just over ten years since I started this little project but that launch date is almost here.

More Salon Cabinets
I've just added a few more pictures of what I've been doing lately. As I said, I have my bridge almost put back together with only a few more things to do up there. I've also added a picture of the last of the cabinets in the salon. The past few days I've been working on the drawers and the desk top. I almost have them completed and then I can start with the varnish on the cabinets. Just the dinette table and TV cabinet left to build and I can get back up to my bridge to finish up there if my back ordered parts have arrived.

Making Good Progress
I've just about finished on the bridge. I have a few things on back order that I need to finish up. In the meantime, I've been working on my cabinets in the salon. I needed to build a desk for my navigation station, an entertainment center for my TV where I can put my DVD player and maybe a stereo, and also a dinette set. I have all the cabinets built and stained, ready for varnish. Lately I've been working on the drawers for the cabinets and the desk top. I had some African Mahogany left so I decided to use it for my desk top. I didn't have quite enough so I added some poplar in between the mahogany strips to make up the difference. It really turned out nice. It's all fit and ready for stain.

Back on the Mend
It's been some time since I've updated my blog so I thought I had better get it done. I'm back on my crutches again since I had to have a screw removed from my foot repair. I'm just about ready to get back to work as I can put some weight on my foot again. I have so much to do, I really hate to sit around with a bad foot. I have been working on cleaning up a lot of what I call loose ends. I have finished the forward cabin, the galley, and am currently working on the bridge. I just have a few more things to finish on the bridge and I will be done up there. Then I think I will get started on the salon where I have a couple cabinets left to build, my navigation station desk, and my dinette. Once these are completed I'm off to the engine room where I have quite a few loose ends to clean up. The Molly B is just about done, and getting closer to the launch day. I don't know just how much longer it will be yet, but the light at the end of the tunnel is definitely in site. I want to say hey to Jerry and Pat from Michigan who stopped by yesterday to see the Molly B. It was great to meet you both and talk with you.
